1. Can I buy parts for my garage door?   top

Yes, although we strongly recommend that you call us for professional help. You can purchase parts and do the maintenance of your garage door. There are many areas of your garage door that are very dangerous and should not be tampered with. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to give us a call. We have many parts for almost every garage door on the market and would love to help.

2. How can I insulate my existing garage door?   top

At Advanced Door, LC we sell insulation specifically designed for your garage door. We just need measurements from the back of your door. Call us for details on how to measure. Keep in mind that if you add weight to your garage door it will through the spring balance off. Although many people have us just add tension to their spring we strongly recommend that you purchase new springs for the new weight of your garage door.

3. Does my door require regular maintenance?   top

Yes, just like any moving part in your home your garage door does need regular maintenance. Call us to find out more about our preventative maintenance program. If you are a do-it-yourself type of person you can purchase garage door lube and low temperature grease from us and we will help answer any questions you might have. We do recommend that your door is maintained by a professional yearly and lubed with our garage door lube at least every 6 months.

4. What horsepower garage door opener is needed for my door?   top

We get this question a lot lately since the ¾ HP residential operator has been on the market. In many cases a ½ HP motor is more than enough for your garage door. Our best selling operator is a ½ HP LINEAR® that is not only strong enough for any residential door but it is quieter than any garage door opener that we at Advanced Door have ever come in contact with. We have a ¾ HP machine that works great for light commercial and is incredibly quiet as well. All of our motors come with a lifetime warranty and we back up anything we sell. 6. My door is not opening…   top

There are a few things you can check. First, see if the opener has been put on lock. The spring on your door may be broken which can be very dangerous so don’t touch anything and call us for immediate service. Unhook the door from the opener and determine if it is the garage door or the opener. Either way, it is a good idea to just let us handle the situation with our fast, friendly and thorough service.
